Tuesday’s Teaser – Ragdoll and The Edge of Everything

Teaser Tuesday is a book meme I found via Google I believe it was originally hosted on Should Be Reading but I don’t think it’s still active. Still I liked the idea so I’m going to keep it going on my blog.

The rules are simple:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share one or two sentences from that page
  • Avoid spoilers – Pick a sentence that doesn’t give too much away

Today I have two teasers for you! The first is from my current read Ragdoll by Daniel Cole. A debut crime thriller that I’m loving so far.

“The photograph could not have been more perfect had she posed for it: the beautiful blood-splattered juror, dressed all in white, standing traumatised beneath the stone sculptures of Fortitude, Truth and the ominous Recording Angel, cloaked from head to toe in a heavy robe, imitating death preparing to report an endless list of sins back to heaven.”

The second is from The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles, a great YA debut that I posted a review of today. You can find it here.

“She named him herself, so it felt like he belonged to her. He said that where he was from, which he called the Lowlands, they strip your name away like a husk the moment you arrive – to remind you that you’re no one and nothing. When he told her this, she moved a little closer. She should have been scared after what she’d seen him do to Stan, but she wasn’t. Stand deserved everything he got and worse”

Do either of these sound like something you’d want to read? Share a teaser from your own current read leave me a comment below!
