Six For Sunday: The Ever Growing TBR Pile – Books I Want To Reread

Evening everyone! This is a little later than I planned to post today but ah well! I’m going to hold my hands up and admit I’m really not a big re-reader. Partially I think because I’m a big thriller and mystery reader and once you know the ending I find it takes away from the book a little, it loses some of its urgency. I’m not desperate to turn the page because I already know what comes next.

So finding six books from the very limited selection I read last year that I wanted to reread wasn’t going to happen. So I’ve gone a little further back and picked six books I’d like to reread this year.

Six for Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Steph at ALITTLEBUTALOT. You can find a list of prompts from January to June 2019 here

Books I Want To Reread

To Kill A Mockingbird – Harper Lee

To Kill A Mockingbird has a special place in my heart, I’ve reread it a couple of times since I read it for the first time as part of my GCSE studies so I’m hoping to pick it up again this year

Harry Potter – J. K. Rowling

Harry Potter was such a huge part of my childhood but it’s been quite a while since I reread the whole series. Part of this is down to the fact my original copies are all down in Devon in my childhood bedroom, but I do have the Slytherin House editions of the first two books, with the third on pre-order so I think this year might be the year to start the series again.

Northern Lights – Philip Pullman

Before La Belle Sauvage was released I really wanted to reread the original His Dark Materials trilogy but I never got around to it. My hope is that before The Secret Commonwealth is released in October I’ll get round to rereading the original trilogy and La Belle Sauvage.

The Edge of Everything – Jeff Giles

I really loved The Edge Of Everything when I originally read it in 2017 and I’ve had the sequel on my shelf for quite a while now so I think I’d like to do a reread before going on to The Brink Of Darkness.

Everless – Sara Holland

This was a 2018 read, and I only read the sequel at the beginning of this year but I think I’d quite happily be transported back to the land of Sempera and the legend of the Sorceress and the Alchemist

Gilded Cage – Vic James

I ADORED the Dark Gifts trilogy when I originally read them, but I’ve not reread any of them, even in the lead up to Bright Ruin being released, but I’ll happily spend a little more time with the Jardines

They were my #SixforSunday! If you’ve taken part leave a link to your post below and I’ll be sure to check it out!

Admittedly the only one here I’ve read before and that I would reread is Harry Potter and I think I reread the series (or listen on audio) at least once a year anyway!
